    Workplace Wellness Panel

    The Southwest Area Human Resource Association welcomes a panel of wellness speakers to our meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Our meetings will continue to be held at the Dickinson Elk’s Lodge on the second Monday of each month. The business meeting and lunch will be held from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm, with our speaker to present from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. In January, we have four speakers scheduled to present information on workplace wellness topics.

    Heather Dressler is a Personal Trainer and owner of BodyLift Fitness in downtown Dickinson. BodyLift Fitness is dedicated to functional body weight training and focuses on group fitness classes and personal training. Heather will talk about the importance of workplace fitness. Wear your stretchy-clothes for this!! 

    Jared Erie is owner of Therapy Solutions in Dickinson. His presentation will include a discussion of the most current ergonomic programs to assist companies to better identify ergonomic issues, developing an effective plan of implementation, and utilizing available grant dollars for assistance toward ergonomic equipment.  The presentation will also include discussion of “no-cost” ergonomic training programs directed toward worker safe movement principles and implementation of a company stretching program.  Jared graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Occupational Therapy.  Jared has been practicing in the Dickinson area since 1997 and has been Workwell Systems certified since 1999.  Jared’s specialties are ergonomic analysis, development of functional job descriptions, fit for duty testing, neurologic intervention and treatment of elbow, wrist and hand injuries.  Jared has been married to Brenda for 20 years and they have three children; Jaxon, Jada, and Jersey.

    Bridget Bullinger, RD, LRD.LN is the Director of Culinary Services with St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson. Bridget will present “What’s the Hype?” Her presentation will include information on a variety of  popular buzz words in food marketing and the media and what  the actual definitions are for GMOs, free range, etc. Bridget is the Director of Culinary Services for St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson, ND.  In this role, she oversees the ins and outs of the Culinary Department including food service operations, staffing and budgets.  She is a graduate of North Dakota State University  with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and also has responsibilities as a Clinical and Consultant Dietitian.  Bridget and her husband Jared are busy with their three children and are active in the Bullinger Ranch.

    Heather Horner is in the Member Education department in the Bismarck office of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota. She shows employer group members why health care costs are on the rise and offers solutions to help individuals keep out-of-pocket expenses down. Additionally, Heather shows members how to ask doctors and other providers of care questions about their health care options. Heather will be doing a combination presentation of strength training and walking works presentations. She will also touch on BCBSND’s HealthyBlue and Health Club Credit benefits.
